The One Who Cares for Everyone Else

I’ve been thinking lately about what it really means to take care of ourselves.

For those of us who are used to being the ones who show up, fix things, help others, and keep going, taking care of ourselves can sometimes feel like something we should get around to after everyone else is taken care of.

But I’m learning that it doesn’t work that way.

There are no limits to what I’m willing to do for the people I love. But taking care of myself is part of taking care of them, too.

They need me healthy. They need me well. They need me around.

So I’m learning to listen when my body tells me to slow down, and to remember that rest isn’t weakness.

You are not the exception to the care you so freely give to others.

Save a little of that care for yourself, too. 💜
